I Want to be a Sheep

I have heard people say that sheep are dumb. Sheep can only do whatever they are told to do. Yet Jesus tells us to be His sheep. Is Jesus wanting us to be like a dumb animal?  Dumb? No. Like Sheep? Yes! I want to be like a sheep. I want to live peacefully knowing my Shepherd watches over me. Knowing my Shepherd protects me. Knowing my Shepherd will (and did) give His life for me.  I want to be a sheep that knows and obeys only the voice of my Shepherd.  When he says move, I move. When He says stop and rest, I peacefully lay down in green pastures. I want to be a sheep that worries not for I know my Shepherd will provide for all my needs. I am not a sheep that is part of a mindless herd. But I am a sheep who knows the best life for me is to follow my Shepherd and it is good to be surrounded by others living with the same purpose.
